Nordic Web Team
Ecommerce Agency in Stockholm since 2011
Nordic Web Team is an ecommerce agency based in Stockholm, founded in 2011. For thirteen years we've built, migrated, and maintained commerce platforms for Swedish brands, wholesalers, and manufacturers — across Shopify Plus, Norce, Shopware, and Magento Open Source with Hyvä. We work platform-neutral, deliver with AI-accelerated development, and own key parts of the stack: our composable storefront Frntkey and the iPaaS platform Junipeer for integrations.
Why hire a specialised ecommerce agency?
Choosing the right ecommerce agency is one of the heaviest technology decisions a merchant makes. The wrong partnership is expensive — in migration costs, lost growth, and in the worst case, a relaunch two years later. The right ecommerce agency delivers a platform that holds for at least five years, integrates with the ERP without technical debt mountains, and leaves room for the merchant to drive marketing themselves after go-live.
Nordic Web Team is one of the few Swedish ecommerce agencies working deeply across four platforms simultaneously — Shopify Plus, Norce, Shopware, and Magento Open Source with Hyvä. We don't push a single platform for every client. The recommendation comes from a technical discovery where we go through catalogue complexity, market scope, internal team, ERP integration, and licence tolerance.
What an ecommerce agency actually does
Platform choice, development, integrations, and the operational work that keeps it running.Platforms
Platforms we build on
We work with four core ecommerce platforms and don't push one of them for every client. The platform recommendation comes from discovery — catalogue complexity, market scope, internal team, ERP integration, licence tolerance.
Shopify Plus. Fastest time-to-launch for merchants where operational simplicity matters most. Hosted infrastructure, strong app ecosystem, predictable upgrades. We deliver Shopify Plus for brands launching quickly, scaling internationally, or consolidating from fragmented legacy stacks. Our Shopify work includes custom theme development, checkout extensibility, Plus-specific features, and integrations to Nordic payment and shipping providers.
Norce. API-first Nordic SaaS platform built for B2B, multi-market, and complex pricing scenarios. Headless by design — the storefront and backend operate independently. Trusted by Nordic merchants with operational complexity that standard platforms struggle with. We've delivered Norce implementations combined with our Frntkey storefront for performance and flexibility.
Shopware. Modern European commerce platform with a strong admin experience. Often the right choice when the marketing team needs autonomy, the business works across multiple European markets, or a balance between SaaS and self-hosted is preferred. Native B2B suite available in the commercial edition.
Magento Open Source with Hyvä. Flexibility-first ecommerce for merchants with complex catalogues, unique business logic, or B2B requirements. We recommend Open Source over Adobe Commerce in nearly all cases — equivalent functionality at a fraction of the licence cost, with Hyvä providing the modern frontend.
Why choose Nordic Web Team
A few things that make us different from the typical Stockholm ecommerce agency.
Thirteen years with the same focus — designing, building, and maintaining ecommerce. Rare continuity in a Nordic market where many agencies change focus every few years.
Shopify Plus, Norce, Shopware, Magento with Hyvä. The recommendation comes from your commercial reality, not from what we happen to resell. We push back when a platform choice is wrong.
AI is integrated into our development flow — upgrades, migrations, module compatibility checks, and code review. Projects finish faster at the same or better quality, across all the platforms we work with.
Frntkey for composable commerce. Our own B2B suite for Magento. Official payment and shipping integrations for Svea, Walley, Briqpay, Avarda, Adyen, nShift, Ingrid, and Nets. We own key parts of the delivery.
From discovery to ongoing operations
Four steps, regardless of platform or scope. Two to four weeks. We map business model, product catalogue, ERP and integration needs, markets, team. Output is a platform recommendation, architecture sketch, feature inventory, and timeline with budget — independent of whether we end up building.
Depending on scope: from a few weeks for a Frntkey storefront on an existing backend to five months for a full multi-market implementation with ERP integration. We work in sprints with continuous deliveries and ongoing alignment with the client's project owner.
Go-live often runs in the evening or weekend. We staff the team for support during the first week after launch and catch any incidents. The client gets documentation, admin training, and clear operational routines.
Retainer of 20–80 hours per month, adapted to the business. Includes security updates, platform upgrades, bug fixes, new functionality, and growth advisory. We also take over sites from other agencies — the previous agency does not need to be involved.
FAQ
What does it cost to hire an ecommerce agency?⌄
Cost depends entirely on scope. A Frntkey storefront on an existing backend sits in the 200,000–500,000 SEK range. A full ecommerce implementation with ERP integration and multi-market runs from 500,000 up to several million. Ongoing operations is priced hourly or as a retainer, with typical volumes of 20–80 hours per month. We always do a technical discovery before giving a fixed price — without discovery, any quote is guesswork.
How does an ecommerce agency differ from a web agency?⌄
A web agency builds websites in general — corporate sites, landing pages, blogs. An ecommerce agency is specialised in transactional sites where the goal is converting traffic into purchases. That requires deep expertise in checkout, payment solutions, shipping integration, inventory management, ERP synchronisation, B2B flows, and scalability across markets. Nordic Web Team has worked exclusively with ecommerce since 2011.
What's the difference between Shopify, Norce, Shopware, and Magento?⌄
Shopify Plus is fastest to launch but least flexible for complex B2B. Norce is Nordic SaaS built for B2B and multi-market. Shopware is a European platform with strong admin and both SaaS and self-hosted options. Magento Open Source is most flexible for complex catalogues and unique business logic, but requires more technical maintenance. The choice depends on catalogue, markets, team, and licence tolerance — we cover this in discovery.
What does an ecommerce agency actually do?⌄
An ecommerce agency designs, builds, and maintains the commerce platform — including platform choice, storefront development, integrations to ERP and payment systems, and ongoing support after launch. At Nordic Web Team we handle the full scope, from strategic advisory to incident support at 2am.
Which platforms do you work with?⌄
We work with four platforms: Shopify Plus, Norce, Shopware, and Magento Open Source with Hyvä. We also ship our own composable storefront, Frntkey, that works across backends. Recommendation comes out of technical discovery — catalogue complexity, market scope, team capabilities, and licence tolerance.
How long does an ecommerce project take?⌄
From a few weeks for more contained deliveries — a Shopify theme build or a Frntkey storefront on an existing backend — to around five months for larger implementations with multiple markets and deep ERP integration. Timelines are set after technical discovery, once we understand scope.
Do you work with B2B ecommerce?⌄
Yes, B2B is a significant part of what we do. Norce and Shopware's commercial edition ship with strong native B2B functionality. For Shopify Plus we build on the B2B tools released recently. For Magento Open Source we've built our own B2B suite — quote management, contract pricing, customer group segmentation, approval flows — so merchants can run B2B on Open Source without the Adobe Commerce licence.
Can you take over our existing ecommerce site?⌄
Yes. We regularly take over Shopify stores, Norce implementations, Shopware sites, and Magento builds from other agencies. Typical process: technical audit, identify the most urgent issues, establish ongoing maintenance. The previous agency does not need to be involved.
What is Frntkey and when do you recommend it?⌄
Frntkey is our composable storefront built on Nuxt.js and Tailwind. It connects to Norce, Shopware, Shopify, or Magento via APIs. We recommend it when a merchant wants the performance and flexibility of headless commerce — fast iteration on the frontend, ability to switch backends later — without a full custom storefront timeline and cost.
Where are you located?⌄
We're based in Stockholm, Sweden, at Slottsbacken 8. We work with merchants across the Nordics and Europe, with most project delivery done remotely after initial workshops.
