Nordic Web Team has partnered with Svenska Kennelklubben since 2019. Six years in, that partnership produced its most ambitious chapter yet: the development and launch of djurid.se — Sweden's national platform for animal registration and owner services, built and led by Nordic Web Team from the ground up.

About djurid.se

Launched in November 2025, djurid.se is one of the most ambitious digital products SKK has ever shipped — and Nordic Web Team led it. Built on a customised Magento foundation with dozens of features and custom enhancements, djurid.se is a full-service platform for dog and cat owners. It is far more than a simple registry. It is a living, connected ecosystem for animal welfare in Sweden.

What we built

The platform covers a wide range of services. The highlights below show the complexity behind what serves the end user.

  • Lost and found — with a live map of Sweden

    If a dog goes missing, the owner files a report directly on djurid.se: location, date, photo, name, and identifying details. The animal immediately appears as a pin on an interactive map of Sweden. If someone finds it, they can look it up, confirm ownership, and contact the owner — all without leaving the site. Found animals can also be reported on the platform, allowing finders to post a notice and help locate the owner.

  • QR chip tags — physical meets digital

    We built the end-to-end integration for SKK's physical ID tags. Each tag has an RFID chip and a QR code. When someone finds an animal and scans the tag, they land on that animal's djurid.se profile — owner contact details, full history, and live missing status. The collar tag becomes a direct connection to the platform.

    The tags are developed in collaboration with DyreID, Norway's national pet registry.

  • BankID-signed ownership transfers

    Transferring dog ownership in Sweden used to mean paper forms. We digitised and secured the entire flow. A buyer submits an application, payment is arranged, and the transaction is finalised with BankID signing from both parties. The moment both signatures are confirmed, ownership is updated in the SKK database automatically.

The technical story

Djurid.se runs on a Magento core with a custom frontend. Nordic Web Team built custom API integrations connecting the platform in real time to SKK's registry.

Nordic Web Team recommended and implemented Junipeer as the integration layer, connecting payment with their ERP for automated, secure transaction flows. The platform supports free and premium membership tiers, with conditional access logic built across dozens of service flows.

Development is continuous. New features, API updates, and service improvements ship in parallel. There is no end date on this partnership.
