An insane amount of things has happened during the ten years that Nordic Web Team has been around. The e-commerce industry has matured and also received a real boost during the pandemic. During this time a lot is happening on the technical side too. Exciting stuff!


In recent years, we have seen a clear shift in the market. The monolith platforms, which solve everything in one package, are not as requested as before. Instead, combination solutions are increasingly in demand. One now simply expects to pick the best – and for the purpose most suitable – from a buffet of alternatives. “Composable commerce and best of breed” it is called. A logical development, right?

At the same time, we also see that keywords such as Microservices, API-first, Cloud-Native SaaS and Headless CMS are increasingly used in our contacts with our market.

Think bigger – for your business

The ones of you who know us also know our history and close collaboration with Magento. It’s still a great platform that we will not abandon. But at the same time, we have seen this shift in demand and we want to offer the very best solutions for our clients. Then we have to think bigger. Therefore, we will present a number of new partners and collaborations in the future.

Shopware is a 20-ish years old company, but it is in recent years that they really have stepped up. It is now a very fast open source platform for medium-sized companies. To get into the technical, Shopware has adopted Vue.js in both admin and frontend, API first-think and Headless CMD. It offers a damn good support for B2B players, but above all the price positioning is very competitive and the platform is incredibly user-friendly.

In short: Shopware is very complete, a complicated platform that is not too complicated for the user. One could also say: not too “enterprisey”.

Now it’s up to us!

We have built many integrations and modules before. For example, several of the payment solutions used on Swedish e-commerce sites today come from us. As a Premium Partner we are now taking Shopware to the Swedish and Nordic markets and there are a lot of things to do. Among others;

  • Payment solutions.

  • Freight integrations.

  • Integrations with business systems.

Creating local integrations is, as I said, far from unknown to us. It also makes it easier – for us than for several of our competitors, I dare say – to pick up new and interesting solutions.

Because that’s exactly what’s going on. Work with Shopware is underway. At the same time, we are looking at additional solutions that can continue to drive Swedish e-commerce forward.
